On October 31, the first observation and exchange seminar in 2024 on digital construction of colleges and universities in Jiangsu province was successfully convened in Nanjing. The event was  hosted by Jiangsu Provincial Audio-Visual Education Center (Jiangsu Provincial Education Information Center), and jointly organized by Jiangsu Maritime Institute and Nanjing Medical University. Over 100 participants attended the event, including Guo Xinyu, second-grade investigator of Higher Education Department of Provincial Education Department, Wei Xiyuan, director of Provincial Audio-Visual Education Center, Li Jianfen, deputy director, Ma Hongtao, vice president of Jiangsu Maritime Institute, as well as major officials responsible for the Information Department of universities in Nanjing and relevant universities that have been selected as typical application scenarios and excellent cases of education digitization in Jiangsu Province in 2024. 

Ma Hongtao, on behalf of the school, extended a warm welcome to the leaders who came to visit the virtual simulation training base for marine technology and intelligent engine room of marine engineering on campus, and accompanied the delegates to the school's Yangtze River Delta modern nautical technology virtual simulation training base, intelligent engine room training center, and other typical application scenarios of education digitization. He also introduced in detail the construction situation and achievements in our school and the delegates highly praised the school's achievements in education digitization construction. 

During the discussion session of the meeting, four universities, including Jiangsu Maritime Institute and Nanjing Medical University, shared their selected informatization application scenarios. Chen Yong, the director of the Smart Campus Construction Division, shared the application scenario of the Nautical Technology Virtual Simulation Training Base with the theme of 'Empowering the Leap of Navigation Education with Digital Intelligence and Wisdom', and introduced in detail the school's achievements in informatization teaching construction. 

At the same time, the delegates also exchanged views and discussed two themes of general education of artificial intelligence and information innovation work, and invited Shen Daojian, second-grade investigator of Science and Technology Division of the Provincial Party Committee Information Office, and Kang Chenggang, second-grade investigator of Software and Information Service Industry Division of the Provincial Industrial and Information Technology Department, to give specific guidance on information innovation work. The event left a deep impression on the participants the strategic significance of education digitization, urging them to strive to promote the intelligent management and application of teaching resources and data, build higher-quality digital teaching resources, and support the cultivation of informatization talents. 

This event has built a platform for the exchange and display of education digitization work among colleges and universities in Jiangsu province, effectively promoting mutual learning and mutual improvement in the digitization work of colleges and universities, and playing a good role in accelerating the digital transformation of higher education in the province. The conference also contributed practical experience to promoting the sustained and high-quality development of education informatization in our school, which is conducive to the school's advancement in informatization construction and digital transformation.
